Offshore E-visa application Reopens
As of 5th April 2021, the Directorate General of Immigration announced its third phase of border reopening regulations, which now relaxes and allows visa applications to the following types of applicants:
1. New working expatriates & their dependents.
2. Dependents of Indonesian citizens
3. Business travelers
4. Retirees
To apply for Immigration permits to enter Indonesian borders, the applicant should fulfill the set requirements, including a readiness to be quarantined for a minimum of 5 days at a pre-booked quarantine facility, and be able to show negative PCR results that are not older than 3 x 24 hours upon landing.
Indonesian Immigration is trialing the controversial GeNose (a COVID-19 detection tool) for domestic travelers at airports, sea ports and train stations. It is not yet clear if the GeNose testing is a reliable form of testing for international travelers, and if it will be implemented in future.
