Government promulgates the digitalization of Land certificates
On the 12th of January 2021, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights has promulgated a new set of regulations (Permen ATR BPN No.1 Tahun 2021) regarding implementation of electronic technologies set forth by the Agrarian and Spatial Planning Ministry as well as the Head of the National land Agency of Republic of Indonesia.
A modernization process and creation of an Electronic System, of such will gradually digitalize all the land certificates into an online database, containing personal data, drawings, measurements, map and other documents related, further on to be known as Sertifikat-el (Electronic Certificate).
The system implementation will be split into few stages, and will prioritize the land which haven’t been yet certified at all or switch from an older ownership document form.
Further, the Head of ATR BPN (Agrarian and Spatial Planning Ministry and National Land Agency), Sofyan A.Djalil, mentioned through an official statement, as seen on the ATR BPN, that the registration will be done starting with the government certificates and will be continued on later stages by Company certificates (SHGB- right to build) and finalizing with private ownership titles.
All the electronic certificates will be given a Digital identification number, all registered in the same unique data base. The owners will be able to access their Sertipikat-el online, using their own registration access data, used as evidence to prove their proof of ownership rights.
